✦ OPUS Klassik 2026 · Gala 11.

✦ OPUS Klassik 2026 · Gala 11. Oktober, Konzerthaus BerlinWith captivating intensity and stupendous mastery, the Swiss ensemble CHAARTS unfolds a stylistic range across the music of the centuries that is unparalleled. Founded in 2010 at the legendary concert and production venue Künstlerhaus Boswil in Switzerland, CHAARTS sees itself as the world's largest string quartet: it brings together chamber musicians from all over Europe in formations of up to 35 players. In this unique interplay, complemented by soloists and principal wind players from Europe's top orchestras, CHAARTS thrills its audiences and regularly receives standing ovations. CHAARTS' music begins in the 17th century and, on its way to the present day, presents great symphonic works, classics, solo concertos, chamber music, opera, film music and symphonic jazz — often following the motto "make the big small and the small big": works for large orchestra in small ensembles of 12 to 19 musicians, or string quartets in large, colourful formations. Masterpieces are thus rediscovered and explored anew, while also becoming playable in smaller venues and concert series. In 2026 CHAARTS received the OPUS Klassik together with soprano Shira Patchornik for the album «Bella Furia» (Solo Musica). At the award gala on 11 October 2026 at the Konzerthaus Berlin, a Swiss ensemble takes the stage for the first time in the nearly thirty-year history of the prize: CHAARTS performs the title aria «Furie di donna irata» from Niccolò Piccinni's La Buona Figliuola — twelve musicians and one soprano, all from memory, broadcast by German television ZDF. Together with renowned artists such as Elīna Garanča, Lucas Debargue, Jonathan Tetelman, Martha Argerich, Vilde Frang, Ian Bostridge, Camille Thomas, Giovanni Sollima, Mischa Maisky, Fazıl Say, Regula Mühlemann, David Orlowsky, Felix Klieser, Avi Avital and the King's Singers, CHAARTS regularly appears on Europe's most important stages — an ambassador of a vibrant, thrilling and boundlessly curious culture of music-making.
